On 21 June 2012 a one-day workshop was held in the historic
quadrangle building of the National University of Ireland, Galway
in relation to the scoping stage of the Strategic Environmental
Assessment (SEA) for the Western CFRAM Study.
Approximately 30 people attended from a wide range of
organisations, including Inland Fisheries Ireland, the West
Regional Authority, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Irish
Farmers Association and a number of councils (Galway County, Galway
City, Mayo and Sligo). The workshop provided a very useful forum to
gather views on flood risk management, collect additional data for
the scoping study, identify opportunities and constraints and begin
to set environmental objectives for use in later stages of the
study.
If anyone has any information/issues that they would like to
provide in relation to the SEA Scoping stage, please forward them
